Chris Tatum has served  the people of Cabell County for and serves as the County Administrator for the Cabell County Commission. In this role he oversees personnel and purchasing, as well as constructing and managing the County’s 21 million dollar budget that includes the Sheriff’s Department, the Cabell County Clerk, the Circuit Clerk, the Prosecuting Attorney, the Assessor, the Cabell County Emergency Response Center (911) and Cabell County Emergency Services.

 

Since beginning his career with the Commission, he has overseen development projects that have brought over 250 county residents water service into their homes and worked with state agencies and our legislators to bring in countless dollars in grant money to organizations in Cabell County. Chris has worked in partnership with the Cabell County Commission to ensure funding for the Barboursville Senior Center, the Barboursville Fall Festival as well as the Regional Soccer Tournament held at Barboursville Park for the past several years.

 

Chris is also very involved in his community and serves on a variety of Community service boards and authorities. He is a member of the Goodwill Board of Directors, the Cabell County Development Authority, the Cabell County Community Corrections Board, The Robert Shell Juvenile Center Board of Directors, and is the state-wide chair of the Regional Jail Oversight Committee. He has previously served as President of the Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals and is a former recipient of the Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year for his service to the Downtown Live Committee. Chris was also recipient of a proclamation from Marshall University and President Stephen J. Kopp for his work during the premier of the movie “We Are Marshall”.

 

Chris first ran for public office at the age of 18 and has spent his entire adult life preparing for a run at the Mayor’s office in his home town. He has served on the Park Board, has been a volunteer for Oktoberfest/Fallfest on many different occasions, serves as a volunteer at Barboursville Little League and is past president of Barboursville Youth Football.  He has now been a member of council for 4 terms and asks for your vote in the upcoming mayoral election on June 2nd.
